Something really tickled me today. We live in an age when we are a told we can no longer have ice lollies in the summer, it's a bad thing. That an umbrella will no longer provide protection against the infamous British weather. And that you are like a hurricane, there's calm in your eye.

All because us naughty humans fart too much, or something, leading to dwindling numbers of cuddly white bears at the South Pole.

Yet! An operation is under way in Antartica to rescue 52 people from a ship that is stuck in ice! A ship so fucking stuck that even Uncle Sam, who lets be honest, is even more super-heroic than Superman himself, couldn't unstick it!

On a much brighter note, after all the boredom and misery everyone keeps spewing around here. You may have heard that we had a bit of a windy evening last night? My local mosque has been raising money for the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria. They bought an ambulance with the money they raised, but its been sat in the car park of the mosque for months.

Good news, the ambulance is gone. Gone as in crushed under a fucking great tree toppled by the storm!

A certain person made me happy, but then she makes me happy every day.

So this evening I switched a hard wire t5 florescent light fixture to a plug-in AND I built myself a mini greenhouse out of clear plastic totes.

I feel very smug about both those things.
