I got off work at about the same time this terrorist attack happened, be it from abroad or homegrown. I did not turn on the TV until reading this thread, and am just now listening to the news. I can only echo what, Pervipete, has said.

I have mixed feelings about them shutting down cell service in the city. I get that it's to prevent cell detonation of any additional bombs, but... something about it just seems off.

Sorry, I haven't given myself proper time to stew about it.

Nor have they, I think it’s an error on the side of caution kind of thing, until they have time to do a through search for other explosives.

What a horrible, cowardly act. I hope they find the bastards responsible and let the people of Boston mete out proper justice.

Amen to the prayers above and to the hope of catching this cowardly bastard - children as young as 2 and 3 were severely injured. How do you justify that?

There are no justifications. This is a horrific and indiscriminate thing. Designed to cause fear and uncertainly But then being scared is what they want. I know posting links to other sites on the board isn't the done thing but I hope this one is ok.....

I can't even begin to imagine what those families are going through. What an awful thing to do.

I watched the full coverage of the incident on tonight's news. It is not known who perpetrated the attack and for what purpose, but speculation was ripe about it being something more than a random attack (I hesitate to use a certain word here). To my mind, it hardly matters. What matters is, innocent people have been hurt. I add my thoughts to those of others here. Let's hope they catch whoever is responsible, soon.

I guess they're referring to it as an "act of terror" now. I don't know. It's confusing because, according to what I've read anyway, it was well planned. However there has yet to be any message behind it.

I don't know. I read somewhere they found what they believe to be more undetonated bombs but I couldn't find how many. It just reinforces my desire to move to the woods.

I hate cowardly humans like those that set those bombs. Give me an honest war anytime - this is bullshit.

to me it is an act of terror, like the world trade center bombing or the Ok city bombing or the unabomber ones or... well we have had a few terror bombings, not as many as some other countries but still to damn many. might be a domestic terror thing or a foreign one, guess we'll have to wait and see.

they are now saying it was only the two that went off, all other parcels checked were not bombs.

my condolences to all in Boston yesterday and right now.

Anything like this is by definition an act of terror, whether it is by a large, highly organised group or one lone lunatic living in a basement.
