What are all the advertisements doing on this board? People seeking to sell bags and such, posting inside private, one on one role plays etc. I never saw anything like it before. It's off putting in the extreme to come here and see it.

Being as this is one the biggest adult boards around we attract our fair share of spammers. We pretty much clean it up everyday.

There is an area to post spam and other posts that violate forum rules.

remember how annoyed you were when it took forever to remove your 'newbie' status with all the restrictions that entailed?

These auto-spammers are the result of none of those restrictions being enforced on this board, thus automated search engines can spam away while other places you have to 'proof' that you're an actual human when you sign up and before you get to post a lot.

The mods seem to do an excellent job of cleaning up, but there is only so much they can do.

Bring back the newbie status.

I think both posting policies have their advantages and disadvantages. Newbies here have no posting restriction, which is good for a newbie on RB, not so much on other boards such as RD. the ‘newbie status’ was not a big issue on RD, until the powers that be went on a long absents, so no Habeas corpus, for recent newbie.

I think good Moderators are the backbone of any message board site. But often times they are restricted from the power they need to properly police a board by the Administrator of the site.
From what I can see, spamming on RB is not near what it use to be, so someone is doing one hellva job.

Being a moderator on a large site is not an easy task. It's easy to criticize them for both actions taken and not taken. It's a thankless task in many ways on their part but is often a labor of love versus time constraints. I think they do one heck of a job.

Abby, you were on ignore on RD because you insulted me openly. Go ahead and keep acting that way, it's more a reflection on you than anything else.

As for my comment, it was perfectly warranted and valid. Why wouldn't you want to get rid of all spamming, if there is a way to do so? That's not bitching, that's just being smart.

In a nutshell, this isn't RD. This is a different website that has been always run differently. Yes I can't imagine that such differences need adapting to. So you adapt. You wouldn't move to China and start saying "Hey, english is so much better guys", no. You would learn to speak Cantonese (or mandarin).

In short, you are on Rapeboard now. This is how its always been done here and no doubt always will be. We are pleased to have you here, all of you. But please accept that the site you used to visit isn't like this one. If they were all the same then the internet would be a boring place.

When I go somewhere new I generally don't tell people how to improve the place right off the bat. I enjoy the differences and am grateful to have another board to go to.

All I've seen you do since you got here is moan. There is a simple solution to your problem and that is you don't log in here if you don't like it.

Perhaps you don't understand that the admin and mods here do alot behind the scenes that you're unaware of, they dealt quickly and efficiently with a registering issue I had and I'm sure other members have issues to, never mind just the daily upkeep and running of the site they do.

I looked at the site you were a member of previously and was going to join there as well but it crashed before I had chance, if it gets up and running again I'll avoid you like the plague if you moan non stop there as well.

Just be greatful you have somewhere to go that enables you to meet up with your friends, as far as I can see everyone has been most welcoming.

The moderators here do work very hard, the wonderful wizard of Admin takes a very back seat approach. Contact a moderator here with a problem and you get a response within 24 hours.

The problems this site have with spammers isn't of the moderators making, they're governed by the way the site itself operates. The membership here my not see eye to eye about the solution, but we all have one common goal - kill spammers and trolls, and rape all the girls.

Every site is going to be run differently if for no other reason because different human beings are running them and they have different ideas as to how it should be run properly. There will always be some things that will take some getting used to when there's a bit of a forced migration.

That said I hope that everyone can learn to accept that if someone asks a question or makes a suggestion for what he/she sees as an improvement it's not necessarily disrespect or a personal attack. There is room for improvement everywhere (including RD and RB) and suggestions respectfully made should be interpreted in the spirit that they're given.

Obviously some sensitivity should be kept in mind when making suggestions, particularly for a site you just joined from another similar site. I think it bears thinking about that not only are the RD members who are migrating here having to get used to the way RB does things, so too are the RB members having to get used to a fairly sizable influx of new members who are used to doing things differently. There's going to be a learning curve for everybody and maybe a little bit of slack should be cut for all concerned?
